Well, that's about enough talk about people that aren't me!
There's some really cool things going on around the internet and I wanted to take a minute to talk about them. First of all, my excellent friends at house of paincakes are running their annual(?) blog contest, the HOP idol. And I entered! And got in! Check out the first article I wrote for them here. It's a quick piece talking about the conundrum of what path should I take to get better at Hordes. My first actual entry for the contest will be up at the end of the month, so make sure to go vote for me!
Secondly, speaking of Hordes... I will soon have an article on frontline gaming where I run down my rudimentary knowledge of the differences between warmachine and hordes. I have talked with Reece (who runs frontline gaming up north) at a couple of tournaments over the last year or so and he's a pretty cool guy. So when he put the call out for people to help contribute to his blog, I jumped at the chance. Here's my look at the fundamental differences between warmachine and hordes from the perspective of a beginner.
Thirdly, Apparently I'm awesome! Who knew???

I know that people who play competitive 40k generally take rankings HQ with a grain of salt since it really doesn't mean much... But I'm pretty stoked to see my name up there at the top of US players! I've only really been playing in tournaments since the first BAO and I made it up to number 9! Now all I need to do is win a damn tournament and get some prizes, haha. I'm sick of spending money on this crap!
I know 6th rumors are flying across the internet and most of them sound pretty crappy, but keep your chins up everyone! I think with the proper adjustments, tournament play might still be viable. We'll have to get a hold of the complete rulebook to be sure, but the independent organizers have been holding the tournament scene together for years with no support. They are resourceful fellows who will do their best to support the community. Thanks guys!
